Chelan is one of the most historic freeflight sites in the country. People have been flying here since before it was reasonable. Known for its big air and huge lines set during the annual US Open of Paragliding. Yet for many years now there has been very little connection to the community and no access for the public other than to watch everyone from the beach wondering how that parasail got detached from the boat. Finally someone has stepped up to bring paragliding to back to Chelan with the opening of ParaGlide Chelan.
